                主讲人简介/Biography:

                浙江大学教授,美国密西西比大学博士学位。长期从事河口海岸动力学、海洋工程防灾减灾、深海异重流与浮力湍羽流等方面的研究,主持国家自然科学基金、省杰青和重点研发专项等各类课题20余项,在 Geophys. Res. Lett.、J. Fluid Mech.、Deep-sea Res. 、《中国科学-技术科学》等国内外主流期刊上发表论文 100 余篇,两篇代表作成为主编精选等论文,授权国家发明专利10项,获得省部级科技进步奖二等奖 3 项。现任国际IAHR海岸与海洋工程水力学专委会(CMH-IAHR)主席, IAHR国际学会 Council Member(理事),教育部“海洋感知技术与装备”工程研究中心副主任,浙江大学海洋学院院长助理,海洋工程学系主任,港口海岸与近海工程研究所所长。曾在美国伍兹霍尔海洋研究院、美国加州大学圣芭芭拉分校做访问学者,入选浙江省“151”人才工程第二层次。

                Dr. Zhiguo He, earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Mississippi, is a Professor at Zhejiang University. His research interests mainly focus on estuarial dynamics, ocean engineering, gravity currents, and deep-sea hydrothermal plumes, with supports of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Distinguished Youth Scholars of Zhejiang Province, and the Key R & D Project of Zhejiang Province. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers in Geophys. Res. Lett., J. Fluid Mech., Deep-sea Res, etc., owned 10 national invention patents, and won 3 Provincial Science and Technology Awards. He currently serves as the Chair of Committee on Coastal and Maritime Hydraulics and Council Member of IAHR, Vice Director of Engineering Research Center of Oceanic Sensing Technology and Equipment of Ministry of Education, Assistant Dean of Ocean College, Chair of Department of Ocean Engineering, and Director of Institute of Port, Coastal and Offshore Engineering. He was once a visiting scholar at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and University of California, Santa Barbara, USA.

                讲座摘要/Abstract:

                深海热液羽流及其携带的物质在深海生态系统中起着非常重要的作用。通过构建拉格朗日颗粒输运模型与计算流体力学耦合模型,揭示了热液羽流的流场结构与涡旋系统及其在控制热液区颗粒物沉降通量中的关键作用,定量分析了深海热液矿物颗粒输运和沉降的动力学机制,阐明了不同热液颗粒物的悬浮、近喷口沉积和长距离输运的三种输运模式,建立了热液矿物颗粒沉积距离的计算公式,为深海热液生态系统研究和热液矿区勘探等提供了参考依据。

                Hydrothermal plumes and particles play vital roles in deep-sea ecology systems. We have revealed the mechanism and three typical transport patterns of particles emitted from submarine vents and subsequently laden by plumes in the stratified deep ocean, i.e., suspension, near-vent deposition, and long-distance transport, by developing a Lagrangian model coupled with a computational fluid dynamics model. The particle trajectories suggest a general expression that predicts a linear variation of deposition location with the reciprocal of settling velocity. Our findings provide a new perspective on the accumulation of sediments near hydrothermal vents.
